A Fonte do Alegrete é um monumento neoclássico do século XVIII. No seu local de origem era adossado a um conjunto de casas no arranque da antiga Rua do Alegrete, hoje Rua Luís de Camões, onde se encontra atualmente o Monumento ao Campino.
Em 1932 por iniciativa de António José Vidal Baptista, no âmbito de um rearranjo urbano, foi desmontada, tendo sido reconstruída em 1952, com algumas alterações, no Largo Carlos Pato onde permanece e está classificada como património protegido.
Alegrete Fountain The Alegrete Fountain is a neoclassic monument from the XVIII century. In its original location it was attached to a group of houses at the beginning of the old Alegrete Street, today the Street Luís de Camões, where the Monument to the Campino is currently located.
In 1932 by initiative of António José Vidal Baptista, within the scope of an urban rearrangement, it was dismantled, having been rebuilt in 1952, with some changes, in Largo Carlos Pato (Carlos Pato Square) where it remains and is classified as protected heritage.
