A Fonte do Mártir Santo contigua à Igreja de São Sebastião, mas de estrutura mais moderna, é uma fonte de inspiração tardo-manuelina, com interpolações posteriores. Datando do tempo de D. Sebastião e escudo pétreo é encimado pela coroa real, sendo ladeado pela esfera armilar que representa o Rei e a Torre que representa Vila Franca de Xira.
A fonte aproveita as águas da “Mina de Santa Luzia”, uma vez que este era o último ponto de água da Vila, quando se saía pela Porta de Santa Luzia, onde posteriormente se edificou a Igreja.
Mártir Santo Fountain The Mártir Santo Fountain contiguous to the São Sebastião Church, but of a more modern structure, is a late Manueline inspired fountain, with later interpolations. Dating from the time of D. Sebastião, the stone shield is surmounted by the royal crown, being flanked by the armillary sphere that represents the King and the Tower that represents Vila Franca de Xira.
The fountain uses the waters of the Santa Luzia water mine, once this was the last water point of the town, when one went out through the Santa Luzia Door, where the Church was later built.
